5Preface
There have been tremendous changes in the approach to the diagnosis of hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal diseases in the last two decades. Recent advances in the imaging technique have revolutionized the diagnosis and the treatment of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
Keeping in the mind about the challenges in recent advancement in the field of gastroradiology, the Faculty of Department of Radiodiagnosis, SGPGIMS, Lucknow, has presented the book on imaging of hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal diseases. This book comprises some interesting cases of conventional radiology (Plain Radiography and Barium Studies), multidetector CT and MR images which every radiologist encounters in day-to-day practice. The book is including cases related to imaging of the liver and biliary tract, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. Many of them are correlated with the clinico-pathological findings.
Our aspect to the readers in this book, will help adding the knowledge to our graduate and postgraduate students, radiologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons and physicians. We are also hoping that this book in future will help to improve patient health and treatment.6
We wish to take this opportunity to thank our faculty, colleagues from our prestigious institute for their active support and cooperation.
We also would like to thank Mr Shukla and Mr Tarun Duneja (Director-Publishing) of M/s Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers (P) Ltd and other staff for their professional help and cooperation in publishing this book.
