It is my privilege to foreword the title A Concise Textbook of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. The stigma towards mental disorders and mentally ill persons are still in ground. The psychiatric nursing professional can do many things in removing these issues. This title provides comprehensive information regarding various aspects of psychiatric nursing.
The authors designed this book based on Indian Nursing Council (INC) Curriculum and can be used for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The topics covered in this book helps to provide knowledge for the students and can be effectively apply in their professional practice to provide a standard nursing care.

A Concise Textbook of Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is a sincere effort made by us and is designed for the undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students. This book is designed exclusively based on Indian Nursing Council (INC) syllabus and is meant for BSc Program even though the other nursing program can be used as a reference guide.
In this book, we have tried to give a comprehensive knowledge regarding various aspects of psychiatric nursing. It attempts to present the essential information on concepts and principles, assessment of mental status, therapeutic communication, various therapies, and mental illnesses with nursing care, legal issues and community mental health nursing.
It is hoped that nursing students, teachers and professional nurses will find this book useful. Their comments and suggestions for the development of this book will be appreciated.
