FM5Preface to the Second Edition
With immense pleasure and gratitude to the readers of first edition, I present second edition of Essentials of Pediatric Nursing.
During recent years, there has been phenomenal advancement in the field of Pediatrics, so the content of this book has been revised and updated. Few topics and formulas have been added so that this text can provide comprehensive material to nursing students and faculty.
Maintaining the flavor of the book, the entire matter has been presented in lucid and unambiguous language. I have tried to present the pathophysiology of disease conditions in form of line diagrams for the ease of understanding. Unnecessary details have been avoided so that the students find the subject easy-to-understand and interesting.
This book is my sincere effort to help students prepare for Child Health Nursing Examination as the text covers complete Child Health Nursing syllabus prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi. Also review questions given at the end of each chapter will help the students to evaluate their understanding of the matter and ability to recall the information. This textbook is definitely going to be a valuable companion to all nursing students and personnel.
A reasonable time has been spent in the revision of this textbook. I do not claim this contribution to the body of knowledge of Child Health Nursing as completely novice and original but I have made best efforts to incorporate latest and correct information available in the field of Pediatrics.
I sincerely invite suggestions, constructive criticism and comments of the readers about this book so that acceptable changes can be made in forthcoming edition. Kindly mail me at reemapawankumar@gmail.com.
I wish all readers success in nursing career.

FM6Preface to the First Edition
With immense pleasure I present Essentials of Pediatric Nursing for the nursing students.
The purpose of writing this book is to provide comprehensive, easy to understand and unambiguous material to the students as per the syllabus given by Indian Nursing Council (INC). All the unnecessary details have been avoided so that the students may not face any difficulty in preparation for examinations. Review questions given at the end of each chapter will help the students in evaluating themselves.
This book will be a valuable companion to all the nursing students and personnel.
About three years have been spent in writing this textbook. I don’t claim any original contribution to the body of knowledge of pediatrics, but I have tried my best to incorporate the latest information available in pediatric nursing. I also earnestly invite suggestions and comments of the readers about the book at my email-reemapawankumar@gmail.com. I wish all the readers success in their nursing career.
