It is with immense pleasure that I am presenting the second edition of Principles of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. This textbook is primarily designed for the undergraduates and presented in lucid language. Considering the number of increasing litigations and consumer redressal fora cases, certain texts have been updated extensively, like consent, negligence, ethical aspects, legal procedure, etc. At the same time, numerous judgements delivered by honorable Supreme Court of India have been included. I hope the budding doctors will immensely get help from the text and can understand the language of law and the court. Wherever possible, the text is presented in point-wise manner including numerous photographs, line diagrams, flowcharts, tables and boxes. Keeping with today's generation, numerous website addresses are provided so that the curious learners can visit and learn more. This book is one of the well-referenced textbooks and caters for every need of PG aspirants. While preparing this textbook, I had consulted various other textbooks, journals and also feedback received from faculties and students. I am thankful to those who had provided the feedback. I hope this textbook will serve the purpose and help the students learn the subject in an easy and practical manner. The suggestions and healthy criticism will be of immense help for further improvement of this textbook.
