All Nurses and Nursing Students who are going to attend competitive exams
fm6
fm7Preface
Nursing is not a static, unchanging profession but is continuously growing and evolving as society changes. A nurse should understand the various concepts in a broad and comprehensive way in order to qualify national and international competitive exams.
The various competitive exams are getting tougher every year. To succeed, you will need a wide knowledge of the subject. This is a huge curriculum and it is difficult to know whether you have gathered all the necessary facts and have reached the right standard. This is precisely where this book comes from. There is no predetermined syllabus or criteria for testing the nursing knowledge.
During my teaching experience, I have found out that there is a lack of study material which caters to the student requirements in order to pass these exams. The students have often sought recommendations for a publication which caters to their complete syllabus. For lack of such a book on nursing, there has always been a high demand for prepared notes which could be used for their preparation. This edition is a genuine effort to mitigate their hardship and also to stimulate academic interest and build an appreciation of the relevance of nursing practice and engaging the students to write in internationally based exams, like HAAD, DHA, RN, MOH and PROMETRIC.
I am confident that this book would provide good teaching material for all the instructors and students, who are going to write a competitive exam. Suggestions for improvement will be gratefully acknowledged.
