Normal functioning of the heart is mainly depends on how well the oxygen demand and supply was carried out by the coronary artery, to heart muscles. This oxygen and nutrients are supplied by a network of blood vessel known as coronary artery. This chapter covers the coronary artery disease, angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction along with their incidence, etiology and risk factors, hereditary, physical activity, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic findings, medications, complications, and surgical management. Coronary artery disease is the obstruction of blood flow through coronary artery causing an imbalance between oxygen demand and supply. Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease is the most common form of coronary artery disease. Angina pectoris is a clinical syndrome of ischemic heart disease resulting from myocardial ischemia.
