fm7Foreword
I was introduced to this warm and soft-spoken doctor of Mumbai (India) at an exhibition in Dubai by her very joyful and outgoing husband Deepak, only a couple of years back. Since then we have become very good friends and work associates in Dubai.
It has been a great pleasure for me to write a foreword for Dr Sonia's second book titled, Study of Clinical Cosmetology-2.
I have also had the opportunity to read the already published Volume 1 and the transcript of the Volume 2. Both the volumes of this book are an amazing example of how cosmetology as a science of skin beauty can be understood in its absolute simplicity. It entails all topics in extreme detail with its practical application in day-to-day patient interaction. The beauty and wellness industry in India has great potential for growth and work opportunities. I would definitely recommend all the aspiring doctors, skin estheticians and beauty therapists who want to make a career in cosmetology to keep these books as a reference point for their clinical practice.
Dr Sonia is a wonderful human being, a great doctor and a perfectionist in every aspect. The book is so well penned that it makes an easy reading for anyone either from the medical fraternity or other fields.
I am very happy for Sonia and really hope that she keeps sharing her knowledge and continues to write many more books in the future as well.

fm9Preface
This is the second volume of my book—Study of Clinical Cosmetology that was published in March 2015 by M/s Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers (P) Ltd, New Delhi, India. The response and feedback by industry experts, my students and colleagues to the first volume motivated me to put together my second book. This book is a continuation to provide an in-depth understating of the clinical aspects of esthetic medicine. In this volume, I have tried my best to cover procedures best suited for the ever-growing concerns faced by practitioners like pigmentation, scars, stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkles, etc. This book along with its preceding volume would act as a perfect handbook for anybody wanting to introduce the most result oriented and versatile bouquet of services in cosmetology at their esthetic clinic, beauty salon or medi-spa. I have also included advance anti-wrinkle treatments like botulinum toxin and fillers in detail and highly recommend these procedures be performed only by trained medical professionals and under the guidance of senior dermatologist or plastic surgeons. Being a consulting cosmetic-dermatologist for many years now, I have realized that skin is one of the most complex organs of our body and cosmetic procedures can only cure/enhance/improve client concerns to a limited extent. As an esthetician/doctor/counselor, you must understand that you are not only the client's skin consultant but in some capacity a surgeon, a psychologist, an image consultant everything put together and you must also be a very good listener to be able to set their expectations for the desired result correctly. I hope you find this volume informative and use it as a reference guide in your day-to-day practice.
May we continue to add glowing faces to this beautiful world.
