Following a capsular break in phaco, the biggest risk is of fragments falling in the vitreous. A new technology termed “The Hema Life Boat” which is circular concave Hema of 10.5 mm in diameter with a central indentation is injected via regular 2.8 mm injector, unfurls below the fragments, stabilizing them permitting safe phaco.
