About Video

Nasotracheal intubation should be used for anesthesia in patients requiring exposure above the level of C3. Placement of retractors should be done with caution to avoid injury to the recurrent laryngeal nerve. It is advisable to release the self retaining retractors intermittently during surgeries of long duration, to avoid continuous pressure on the neurovascular and visceral structures.
