In the absence of capsular support posterior chamber lenses can be utilized by suture fixation of the IOL hapticsto either the iris or sclera wall. Two point fixation may be associated with lens decentration or IOL tilt. Rarely, the suture may break leading to severe malposition. Suturing the haptics to both the scleral wall and the iris adds a few minutes to the surgical procedure, however, significantly increase surgical safety and IOL stability.
