This video demonstrates the technique of type II thyroplasty (lateralization laryngoplasty) which is performed for patients suffering from adductor spasmodic dysphonia. The procedure entails separation of the thyroid alae in the midline with interposition of an adequately sized silastic implant till a satisfactory voice quality is obtained.
