About Video

This video demonstrates the technique of endoscopic septoplasty. As compared to the conventional septoplasty, the endoscopic procedure provides an excellent end-on view, thus enabling one to tailor-make the procedure, and allow for precise septal corrections. After infiltration, a hemitransfixation incision is taken, the mucoperichondrial and mucoperiosteal flaps are elevated, the deviated parts of the septum are either corrected or removed, and the flaps reposited. In cases with isolated small septal spurs, a hockey stick incision maybe taken at the site off the deviation to perform a ‘limited’ septoplasty.
