About Video

This video demonstrates the technique of polypectomy under local anesthesia. The visible polyps are initially cauterized with a bipolar forceps, and then gently removed with a tissue shaver. The continuous aspiration from the shaver ensures that no blood gets aspirated by the patient. This may be required in cases where there are recurrent polyps after surgery, or also in other cases. The use of local anesthesia ensures that the bleeding is less, the procedure carries less risks and is quicker, and can also be repeated a number of times.
