About Video

The nose is the most prominent feature of the human face and is significantly involved with the perception of beauty. It is thus important to analyze the proportions and relations of the face precisely prior to embarking upon any rhinoplastic procedure. Described here is the planning and facial analysis technique as a part of the preoperative assessment for rhinoplasty. The video demonstrates the generation of a patient-specific three-dimensional model to analyze its features. It can study the skeletal as well as soft tissue components. Anthropometric measurements can be made and analysis of detailed anatomy including those of the septum and sinuses can also be done. Subtle evaluation such as tip studies can also be undertaken. This technique prepares the surgeon for all potential pitfalls during surgery, and helps in planning the technique and approach so as to allow for a favorable outcome.
