About Video

This video describes the removal of cortex is first done with a Simcoe cannula and then with bimanual irrigation or aspiration system. Pull the cortex into the center and then aspirate it. Rubbing on the aspiration port will reduce the overall aspiration time. Then change the irrigation/aspiration system and complete the removal of cortex. After injection of viscoelastics, the 5 mm optic PMMA IOL is inserted into the capsular bag. Remove visco from the anterior chamber and also from behind the IOL. At the end, inject Cefuroxime in the anterior chamber and make sure that the scleral incision is covered by conjunctiva.
