About Video

This video demonstrates minimally invasive percutaneous dilation. Following a fasciotomy of the same length and inline with the skin incision, the initial dilator is placed through the paraspinal muscles. Using the initial dilator, the spinous process can be palpated in the midline and then coursed lateral to palpate the lamina-facet junction. In the lumbar spine, the dilator should be docked on the caudal aspect of the cranial lamina. This allows access to the pars, lamina, and facet complex at the level of interest.
