About Video

This video demonstrates mini-open anterior lumbar interbody fusion. During the annulotomy, the blade edge should be pointed away from the vascular structures. Perforation to the endplates may increase the likelihood of implant subsidence and migration. Incomplete discectomy can result in the retropulsion of disc fragments into the spinal canal when the implant is positioned. A lateral and posteriorly placed implant can cause neuroforaminal impingement.
