About Video

This video clip shows two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. Apical four-chamber views in a 86-year-old female patient with amyloidosis. All chamber walls are echogenic and markedly hypokinetic due to the infiltrative process. The ventricular walls appear thickened because of amyloid deposition, not hypertrophy. (AO: Aorta; LA: Left atrium; LV: Left ventricle; MV: Mitral valve; RA: Right atrium; RV: Right ventricle; TV: Tricuspid valve).
