About Video

This video shows one clip taken from another adult male patient a few months after open heart surgery. The head is towards the top of the screen. The simultaneous recording of heart sounds provides timing. The S1 is soft and the S2 is sharp and easily heard. The jugular movements are seen at the bottom of the neck just above the clavicle. One can clearly see two equal downward movements, one coinciding with the S2. This will be therefore an abnormal contour (x' = y) which is often seen in patients who have had previous cardiac surgery.
