About Video

This recording is taken from a patient with severe aortic regurgitation. This recording is from the apex area, made with low frequencies alone. The low frequency recording from the apex area shows a low frequency diastolic rumble starting in mid-diastole lasting through the remainder of the diastole. There is no opening snap or presystolic component to the murmur. The diastolic rumble is therefore an Austin Flint murmur due to functional mitral stenosis.
