About Video

This recording is from a young patient with congenital pulmonary regurgitation taken at the 3rd left interspace with low frequency selection in the phono recorder. The latter is like listening with the bell of the stethoscope. One can hear intermittently inspiratory noise with slight increase in the heart rate. The S2 appears to split well on inspiration. The P2 is followed by some low frequency murmur in early diastole. It almost sounds as if the P2 has duration. It does not sound like the aortic regurgitation murmurs. The murmur is relatively short and has definite low frequency character. It is also best heard with inspiration. It may be difficult for a beginner to appreciate however. The low frequencies of the murmur will indicate normal levels of pulmonary artery pressure.
