About Video

This recording is from a patient with mitral stenosis at the low frequencies alone from the apex area to simulate what one can hear with the bell of the stethoscope at the bedside. The recording from the apex shows a low frequency long diastolic rumbling murmur beginning with the OS and lasting throughout diastole ending with the loud S1. Just before it ends on the S1 it seems to have a presystolic crescendo effect. The cadence is as follows: Rubbb…….Pa…Ta.rrrrrrrrrrrRRubbb…….Pa…TarrrrrrrrrrrRRubbb. The findings support the diagnosis of significant mitral stenosis.
