About Video

This recording is a patient with mitral stenosis from the lower left sternal border. The S1 is quite loud and snapping in quality. The S2-OS interval appears to be quite short indicating probably high left atrial pressure. The OS is best heard in the recording from the lower left sternal border. The murmur is quite loud and lasts throughout diastole and has a good presystolic accentuation. The murmur is even audible at the lower left sternal border area. The findings are suggestive of mitral stenosis, which is expected to be moderately severe or severe.
