Hair Transplant 360 for Assistants (Volume 2)
by Emina Karamanovski VanceAt the end of the procedure, the entire recipient area should be cleaned and systematically inspected for the following: all sites filled, all grafts placed at the correct level, all hair curls pointing correctly, and no hair trapped under grafts. Although inspecting the work area should happen throughout the placement by every assistant, at the end, usually one person is assigned for the final check. During the inspection, one may find a graft that slipped out of a site and dried out. If such a graft is found in a hairline, it needs to be replaced with a viable graft (if a spare graft is unavailable, a graft from less prominent area may be relocated). If such a graft is found in the midscalp and spare graft is unavailable, the dry graft should be removed and the site left empty.
