About Video

This video clip shows parasternal short-axis in main pulmonary artery. This view is opportune to assess for a patent ductus arteriosus (in which case a high-velocity aliased jet toward the transducer might be seen in the pulmonary artery concurrent with normal laminar flow away from the transducer). This view is also useful for obtaining the pulmonic VTI using pulsed wave (PW) Doppler. (AoV: Aortic valve; PV:Pulmonic valve; PA: Pulmonary artery).
