About Video

The arrowhead points to the Doppler sample volume placement in the shunt flow signals, and the arrow points to the velocity waveforms obtained by pulsed Doppler interrogation. For comparison, this video clip is obtained from the subcostal approach and shows no definitive evidence of an atrial septal defect. This is most likely related to the nonhorizontal orientation of the interatrial septum (IAS) in this view. (IVC: Inferior vena cava; LV: Left ventricle; RV: Right ventricle; TV: Tricuspid valve).
