About Video

This video clip depicts live/real time, three-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. The arrow points to the left atrial appendage (LAA) viewed in the aortic short-axis view. Note that the tip (apex) of the appendage is narrow and elongated and is free of clot. The arrows point to three lobes of the left atrial appendage. (AV: aortic valve; LA: left atrium; RA: right atrium).
