About Video

Two- and live/real time three-dimensional (3D) transthoracic echocardiographic identification of the superior vena cava and right pulmonary artery behind the aorta imaged in parasternal long-axis view. Bounded echo-free space behind the aorta imaged in parasternal long-axis view. Live three-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. Tilting of the full-volume 3D data set shows the bounded echo-free space (arrowhead) to be continuous with the RA. This is consistent with SVC. (IVC: Inferior vena cava; RV: Right ventricle; TV: Tricuspid valve).
