This video clip showing two-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography. Left atrial appendage. Focused examination. The transducer is moved, angulated and rotated to position the atrial appendage as near the middle of the sector as possible and then the probe is rotated from 0° to 180° to comprehensively view the LAA for any abnormalities such as a thrombus. (AO: Aorta; PA: Pulmonary artery).
