This video clip showing two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography. Both the ventricular septum (IVS) and left ventricle (LV) posterior wall (PW) are echogenic and markedly thickened because of amyloid deposition, not hypertrophy. These are visualized in parasternal long-axis view (systole). (Ao: Aorta; DA: Descending aorta; MV: Mitral valve; RA: Right atrium; RV: Right ventricle; RVW: Right ventricular wall).
