About Video

Two-dimensional (2D) three-vessel view. In this additional example of a normal three-vessel view, the orientation of the fetal chest is marked. The fetal spine (Sp) marks the posterior aspect. The descending aorta (DAo) is seen just to the left and anterior of the spine. The three vessels noted from left to right as well as anterior to posterior are the pulmonary artery (PA), aorta, and right-sided superior vena cava (RSVC) in that order of location as well as decreasing size. Identification of the location as well as relative sizes of the great vessels in this view is critical in detecting and confirming presence of obstruction, size discrepancy as well as arch anomalies. The right pulmonary artery is seen to arise from the main PA and traverses posterior to the aorta as well as RSVC as it heads to the right lung hilum.
