About Video

This video clip depicts left ventricular angiogram in severe mitral stenosis. Use of LV angiography in mitral stenosis at present is limited to assessment of mitral regurgitation during PMV. However, prior to widespread availability of echocardiography, left ventricular angiography was utilized to assess the severity of mitral stenosis and the severity of subvalvular disease. In mitral stenosis, mitral valve leaflet movement is restricted and leaflets will be visible due to immobility. Note the doming mitral valve.
