About Video

This handshake technique for glued IOL first described in 2007, this technique for implanting a glued intraocular lens has evolved and its application expanded to combined surgeries. This video demonstrates the handshake technique, in which the intraocular lens haptics are externalized and a cutter is used at the sclerostomy sites to remove any vitreous. A bent needle creates scleral pockets to hold the haptics, and fibrin glue seals the scleral and conjunctival flaps.
