About Video

This video demonstrates the dilated cardiomyopathy. Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is the most common type of nonischemic cardiomyopathy. In dilated cardiomyopathy, the heart's ability to pump blood is decreased because the heart's main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, is enlarged, dilated and weak. Primary diagnostic DCM features, WHO classification of cardiomyopathy, etiology of dilated cardiomyopathy, DCM cardiac manifestations, aortic annular motion, mitral annular plane systolic velocity, tricuspid annular plane excursion, 2D echo, DCM volumes, DCM Doppler assessment, pulse wave tissue Doppler imaging, DCM-diastolic evaluation, DCM clots, tenting area, difference between ischemic cardiomyopathy and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy, non-compaction of myocardium, broken heart syndrome, apical ballooning syndrome, and arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia are briefly described in this video.
