About Video

The Collins electrode begins to resect the septum preset at 80 watts pure cutting current (00:00 seconds – 00.15 seconds). The resection begins in the midportion of the septum. Meanwhile the pressure exerted by the distention liquid aids in the plane of dissection (00:20 seconds – 00.55 seconds). The incision reaches the left ostium (1 minute – 1 minute and 20 seconds). Now, left ostium is shown (1 minute and 30 seconds – 1 minute and 40 seconds). The septum is formed of fibrotic tissue, so bleeding is not common. When bleeding occurs, normal myometrial tissue is suspected and care must be extreme (1 minute and 50 seconds – 2 minutes and 30 seconds). When both ostia are seen in the same plane, the procedure is completed. A little myometrial notch in the uterine fundus can be left unresected (2 minutes and 35 seconds – 3 minutes and 25 seconds).
