Diagnostic and Operative Hysteroscopy
by Tirso Pérez-Medina, Enrique Cayuela FontThis video shows after filling the vagina with saline, the external os is located and the hysteroscope is gently introduced in the cervical canal. There is no need for speculum, anaesthesia or cervical tenaculum (0 seconds – 15 seconds). The pressure exerted by the liquid medium opens the cervical canal. The hysteroscope progresses always under visual guidance (20 seconds – 45 seconds). When the internal os is reached, a slow gentle pressure gives access to the uterine cavity (50 seconds – 1 minute).
