About Video

This video illustrates 1, 2 and V the way to do laparoscopic suturing. Laparoscopic suturing is an endoscopic skill necessary for the successful performance of a variety of advanced and complex laparoscopic procedures. Suturing is a skill that all endoscopic surgeons would be needed to acquire to be able to further ‘grow-up’ or ‘evolve’ in their endoscopic career. “Suture is future”. Laparoscopic suturing can be: extracorporeal and intracorporeal, which includes placing the suture and tying the surgical knots inside the peritoneal cavity. In this video discuss only intracorporeal suturing utilizing our simplified technique, we prefer to call 1, 2 and V the “victory of laparoscopic suturing”. This technique is compatible with ipsilateral, contralateral or mid suprapubic port placement. The following equipments are necessary for intracorporeal suturing: trocars, 10 mm 0° telescope; two laparoscopic needle holders or one laparoscopic needle holder and a grasper; laparoscopic scissor and suture material. The assistant holds the camera in one hand in a steady fashion, always keeping the target area in the center of the field of view while using second hand, he helps in suture placement or pulling the suture. With our technique suturing is completed in these three steps: loading the needle, aligning the needle, and making the knot. Then the continuous suturing is proceeded just passing the needle through both cut edges of tissue (vault/myoma base/peritoneum) by right hand. Hold the tip of needle with left hand needle holder, take it out and immediately grasp with right hand. Pull the suture and tighter the stitch and complete the suturing in this simple manner.
