Retina & Vitreous Surgery: A Practical Guide to Theory, Practice and Management
by Subhendu Kumar Boral, Suber S HuangThis video shows internal drainage of subretinal fluid through peripheral breaks using PFCL. By injecting heavy fluid PFCL directly over the posterior pole, subretinal fluid is steam-rolled out through an anterior retinal break into the vitreous cavity. The intravitreal fluid then egress through the sclerotomy cannulas as the PFCL level rises. PFCL is to be injected till the posterior margin of peripheral break, then FAX has to be started for complete drainage of anterior subretinal fluid.
