About Video

This video demonstrates the steps of surgery choroidal drainage during repair of retinal detachment. In this video is a case of bullous retinal detachment. PFCL injected and fluid-air exchange started. A nearly 360 degree choroidal detachment detected after drainage of subretinal fluid. Cannula plugged and IOP kept at 50 mm Hg. A 23G trocar-cannula complex introduced obliquely through the sclera, 10 mm away from the limbus according to the maximum height of choroidals into bulky engorged choroidal space and trocar blade removed. External drainage of choroidal fluid possible. Choroidal detachment nearly resolved. Blunt tip of sinsky hook used for gentle massage over the residual choroidals. The light pipe just introduced partially into the cannula and both removed; and the barrage laser done around the inferior break as well as 360 degree. PFCL removed and silicone oil injected.
