About Video

This video demonstrates a case of encapsulated iron retained intraocular foreign body (RIOFB) with clear lens with vitreous haze. TA-assisted vitrectomy done. RIOFB was at superonasal periphery. One port was converted to 20G by MVR blade. PFCL injected to protect posterior pole. RIOFB was made free. A 20G magnet was used to bring the RIOFB from the retinal surface. An end grasping forceps was used to hold the RIOFB. A 20G forceps was again used to hold the RIOFB and tried to remove. Magnet was again used to dislodge the RIOFB from the port and held by foreign-body holding forceps and removed. Laser done around the site of RIOFB and PFCL removed. Fluid-air exchange done and 20G port sutured.
