About Video

This video demonstrates intravitreal antibiotics injection technique. Before any intravitreal injection ocular surface should be washed thoroughly with 5% povidone iodine followed by saline. Scleral mark was done 3.5 mm from the limbus. Intravitreal injection should be given by 30 gauge needle keeping tip of the needle towards the centre of vitreous cavity and beveled tip up. Then under direct visualization under microscope, prepared intravitreal antibiotic solutions should be given drop-by-drop. While removing the needle, a cotton-tip applicator should press the 30 gauge port to prevent vitreous prolapse.
