About Video

This is a rare form of focal task-specific dystonia which may be idiopathic or secondary. The secondary causes include brain damage, use of neuroleptics, neurodegenerative disorders, developmental disorders, metabolic and infective disorders, while primary lingual dystonia is a rare condition. The speech is slurred and the tongue protrudes in many cases and sometimes, there is evidence of overflow dystonia. In all these patients no secondary cause could be identified after scrutinizing questioning. Imaging was normal in all the subjects and treatment was not at all gratifying.
