About Video

This video demonstrates Jain point entry in obese patient with previous cesarean sections. Use Jain point, where there is no requirement in change in direction of Veress needle during entry. In entry, mostly use long Veress needle in obese patients which facilitates and increases the success rate of entry in all classes of obesity. Use a long Veress needle and hold the needle perpendicular to the patient’s body. Patient is kept in horizontal position. The Veress is entered and as go layer by layer, hear for two pops and the third or give of peritoneum as the needle passes through the peritoneum after the fat layer. Found this entry method with long Veress needle easier as we do not need to change direction or the angle of insertion. Also no risk of major retroperitoneal vessel injury, while going vertically with long Veress needle. Perform a standard technique of entry through Jain point at a 90° in any class of obesity. There is no requirement of lifting or repositioning of abdominal wall during entry in our technique. This is safe entry technique through long years of practice in large number of patients.
