About Video

This video demonstrates the hysteroscopic metroplasty. Hysteroscopic metroplasty, a type of reconstructive surgery, enables a doctor to correct an irregularly shaped uterus. Some women have a uterine septum, in which a band of tissue forms in the middle of the uterus, raising the risk of miscarriage by interfering with the proper development of the baby and the placenta. Hysteroscopic metroplasty averts the implications of major invasive abdominal surgery, with good and satisfactory results in pregnancy and live-birth rates, despite the lack of prospective, randomized, controlled studies.
